Peep Tips 702-385-4404
About 80% of the nutrients from the food a hen eats goes directly to the egg which is intended for the embryo to eat. However if their is hot a Rooster to fertilize the egg, there is no way that you will have an embryo in your egg. So when you eat the egg or it is given to hatched chicks as a supplement. There is no cannibalism taking place.

Peeps are Chicks between 2 to 6 weeks of age who have molted most of their down and have their first feathers. Ours forage with the hens and are supplemented with a variety of natural foods including mashed boiled veggie eggs, broccoli and alfalfa sprouts. The extra nutrients help a Peep develop a stronger immune system. We strongly recommend feeding table scraps and handling your peeps as soon as possible. This helps them become friendlier and again gives them extra nutrients that commercially raised chickens would not ordinarily receive. Of course allowing them to scratch in the yard and eat the minerals in the soil is a big plus to building their immunities.
